Explore Colour and other Design Options
In all Microsoft Office applications, there’s a colour palette with 10 different colours in different shades. Whenever you wish to change any colour in your document (for example for fonts or backgrounds) you can select from that colour palette:

While you can change the preset palette options in Microsoft Word, you cannot alter the default pre-set colour options permanently in the Excel template (if you do know a way, please let me know!). You can, however, change the settings in your current workbook. Here is how:
Page Layout
In the ribbon art the top of your screen, select Page Layout. On the left of that menu you’ll find Themes, Colours and Fonts. Clicking on either of them will open up a dropdown menu with options you can choose from. While Themes contain colour and font options, the other two menus will only change either of them.

Default Fonts
Fonts are actually something that you can change permanently in Excel. Permanently as in: This change will affect all of your new workbooks you create. If you wish to do so, at the top of your screen, navigate to the Preferences menu.

Click on General.

Select which font and font size you wish to be your default.
